Halabja Victims Society (HVS) is a grassroots organization whose mission is to mobilize the families of the victims and the survivors of the massacre to achieve justice and hold the perpetrators of the largest chemical weapons attack since World War II accountable.

HVS was created by the surviving victims and orphaned children of the attack.  Our goal is to continue to care for those who were affected and support efforts to end the use of chemical weapons and advocate for peace around the world.  Since the survivors of the attack continue to suffer to this day and require monthly treatments and annual checkups, HVS also coordinates the healthcare needs of the affected community and cares for all memorials dedicated to the victims who have perished.

Members of HVS are highly sought after speakers at international conferences on chemical weapons disarmament and internal human rights and global justice.
